What is TMX Datalinx Webstore?
TMX Datalinx Webstore is a modern digital platform for the delivery of historical market data, analytics and web-based products brought to you by TMX Group. TMX Group is an integrated, multi-asset class exchange group operating cash and derivative markets for multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income and energy. It also provides clearing facilities, data products and other services to the international financial community.

How do I receive the data I purchase?
Products in TMX Datalinx Webstore can either be delivered as one-time purchases or via a monthly subscription. For one-time purchases, you will have immediate access to the data file once your purchase goes through. Access to subscription data files will vary depending on the frequency of the subscription you selected and the publication dates of the actual product. Typically, end of day historical market data will be available after 7PM ET.
What methods of payment are accepted?
TMX Datalinx Webstore currently accepts all major credit cards. For purchase by Invoice please contact: marketdata@tmx.com.
NEW Our plan for Future Payments and Product Purchase via DataBP
TMX Datalinx Webstore is moving to a fully online product purchase and a paperless fulfillment process using DataBP. Product purchase, document eSigning and entitlement management will all be handled via DataBP using a seamless process integrated within TMX Datalinx Webstore. The new process will accept Credit Cards for payments up to $2500.00 (CDN$) and also support Invoice based billing.
NEW Use of TMX Connect Okta Single Sign-on for User Account access
We have moved the TMX Datalinx Webstore users from our existing email/password based authentication (Login) over to TMX Connect Okta. This is a TMX Group enterprise wide single sign-on process that will allow access to TMX web based applications. Please stay tuned for further updates.
What type of account is needed to purchase products?
In order to make purchases on TMX Datalinx Webstore, you need a TMX Datalinx Webstore account. If you do not have a TMX Datalinx Webstore account, it is free and takes just minutes to create. Note to make online purchases you will need to link your existing account (once signed in) to Okta or register via Okta.
Can I return a product or cancel a purchase I made?
If you have any problems or questions about a purchase, please reach out to TMX Datalinx via the TMX Datalinx Webstore Contact Us form or email marketdata@tmx.com and we will work to resolve your issue as quickly as possible.
What currency are the prices listed in?
All currency shown (or not) on TMX Datalinx Webstore is in Canadian dollars unless specifically stated otherwise.
Can I Pay By Invoice?
If you would like to be setup as a group account, please reach out to TMX Datalinx via the TMX Datalinx Webstore Contact Us form.
Do I have to pay Canadian taxes if I am from outside of Canada?
TMX Group is obliged to charge and collect sales tax unless you have submitted a tax exemption form declaring your non-resident status. Please take note that exemption is only applicable from the date of signing, any invoices generated prior to signing would be subject to the tax. We'll apply the tax credit going forward but unfortunately, we can't apply them retroactively. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you are tax exempt and have paid taxes you can recover the taxes paid directly from Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) by submitting a Form GST189.
What type of products can I buy on TMX Datalinx Webstore?
You will find high quality historical market data and web based products from TMX Group. Our high standards ensure that only reliable and accurate data from the marketplace are offered on our platform.
What file formats does the data come in?
Currently products are available in the following formats ZIP, GZIP, TXT, JSON, PDF and CSV.
Do I need any software to download or to use the data products?
No - you will be able to use your files as soon as they are purchased and available for download. However, files in a Zipped format will require an UnZip program to extract the data.
NEW Can I get my Data Products delivered by SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol)?

Yes, you can elect to have files delivered via SFTP from your My Products page - just enable the SFTP product delivery option. Files delivered via SFTP will require an SFTP client to retrieve them.

Note: Once you select the SFTP option from My Products, please sign out and sign back in to the TMX Datalinx Webstore as this will create your SFTP account on our SFTP server.

The SFTP Server login credentials are your registered TMX Datalinx Webstore email address and your current password. Your SFTP server credentials can be updated via your My Profile page.

Our TMX Datalinx Webstore SFTP server is located at sftp.tmxwebstore.com:22. We use the SSH protocol for secure FTP.

For our institutional clients or those behind a firewall, you may need to have Port 22 opened by your local network team.

Are there any restrictions to how I can use purchased data?
You can use all of our open data without restrictions - analysis, project, articles, applications etc. You can use subscription data as outlined in the signed agreements.
NEW Can I redistribute the data I purchase?

No, unless you obtain specific permission from TMX Datalinx to do so, the data you purchase is for your own use and is not to be redistributed to any other party in any other format.

However, you can use the data for personal analysis, projects, articles, applications, etc.

NEW Why do you collect Personal Identifiable Information (PII)?
TMX Datalinx Webstore collects Personal Identifiable Information (PII) from its User Account holders which may be used for our own analytics and for making product/website decisions - such as for tax calculations. We will not share your personal information with any third party. We may send you messages or contact you directly regarding your purchases along with other information and announcements, but you may choose to opt-out of these communications at any time.
When does a Token on TMX Datalinx Webstore Expire?
Our Data Entitlement tokens currently last for a period of Ten Years, shortly, this will be reduced to One Year. When the Token expires, a new one will be issued. As a User, you can create new token(s) by going to My Profile and requesting a reset.
How can I get programmatic access to TMX Datalinx Webstore data?

How long is Historical Market Data stored (retained) on TMX Datalinx Webstore?
Historical market data available for Download or via API delivery is available forever. Data stored on the our SFTP server is retained for a period of 30 calendar days.
Why can I not Login to access my data on the TMX Datalinx Webstore SFTP Server?
You will ONLY be able to successfully login to the SFTP server once the first data delivery has occurred.
Why do I get a "Key Negotiation", "Key not cached" type error message preventing access to the SFTP Server on TMX Datalinx Webstore?

Recently, we moved the location of the SFTP server, specific SFTP clients (ex: WinSCP) hard-code the IP Address in your local version of a HOSTS file. Please contact: datasales@tmx.com.

You can also go into your local version of the .ssh/known_hosts file and remove the entry with either sftp.tmxwebstore.com or our IP Address 52.6.215.199.

Certain commercial FTP Clients may also prompt you to update the cached Key, you can select to do the update and then, the SFTP will work as it did before.

How do I get my Data Products delivered by SFTP (SSH based Secure File Transfer Protocol)?

How can I update my SFTP credentials on TMX Datalinx Webstore?
  1. Sign in to TMX Datalinx Webstore
  2. Select My Account and then My Profile
  3. Update your credentials for the SFTP Server Password and also your OpenSSH based Public Key if you have one
  4. Wait 5 minutes for the changes to be sent to the SFTP Server
  5. Sign in to the SFTP server with the updated credentials
What type of Public Key is supported on the TMX Datalinx Webstore SFTP Server?

We currently support the OpenSSH format for the Public/Private Key pair to a maximum length of 8192 bits. You can find more details on SSH here: Open SSH Key Info.

What is TMX Connect Okta?
TMX Connect Okta is our enterpise level single sign-on solution allowing you access to all of our TMX Web Applications.
Why are we moving to Single Sign-on (SSO) via TMX Connect Okta?

TMX Datalinx is moving to Single Sign-on (SSO) via OKTA to help improve your journey and security across TMX Datalinx web properties including: Datalinx Client Portal, Webstore and Info Services.

In the coming weeks, you will receive an email advising of the change over to Okta SSO.

Please ensure that you re-register using your existing login email/username to maintain your current access.
